Every room in this home began with what was already there, the architecture, the light, the client's extraordinary collection of objects from around the world — and worked outward from that foundation.

The gallery lounge is the heart of the project. A dramatic glass skylight ceiling floods the space with natural light throughout the day, shifting the room's mood from morning through evening. A sculptural brass sputnik chandelier anchors the space beneath it. Chinese landscape mural wallpaper wraps the walls, bringing a sense of depth and quiet contemplation to a room designed for gathering, thinking, and simply being.

The furniture was selected to complement without competing. A grey upholstered daybed on a cowhide rug. Spotted boucle armchairs on iron frames. A raw teak root coffee table that brings the energy of the natural world indoors. African sculpture and a Buddha head on a travertine plinth anchor the space with a sense of history and reverence.

The garden room takes a completely different tone. Lush, green, and enveloping, it is designed around the view, tropical plants, wicker seating, a sheepskin rug underfoot, and green painted window frames that blur the boundary between inside and outside. This is biophilic interior design in its most natural expression, a room that feels like being held by the garden itself.
