The Vision
Not every home needs to be quiet. Some homes need to sing.
This Beacon, New York residence came to us with good bones, vaulted ceilings, and a family ready to stop playing it safe. The brief was refreshingly clear, a home that felt alive, personal, and full of the kind of character that makes people feel instantly welcome the moment they walk through the door.
No beige. No safe choices. No rooms that feel like they belong to someone else.
The result is a home that holds colour, warmth, and a genuine sense of joy,without sacrificing the calm and ease that make a house truly liveable.
The Approach
Beacon, New York has its own energy. Artistic, independent, rooted in the Hudson Valley landscape. We wanted this home to reflect that spirit rather than ignore it.
We worked with a palette that balances boldness and warmth throughout. The periwinkle blue kitchen cabinetry brings playful confidence to the heart of the home, grounded by white zellige tile, exposed wood ceiling beams, and open oak shelving. The living room balances a leather chaise, a live edge coffee table, and a kilim rug in a way that feels collected rather than decorated, like a home built slowly and lovingly over time.
Colour is used with intention throughout. The pink bathroom is soft and feminine without feeling precious. The hallway, framed in a vivid pink doorway, turns an ordinary transition into a moment of delight. These are the details that make a home feel personal, the ones that make people smile before they even sit down.
Our Favourite Details
Three things stand out in this project.
The dried botanical wall installation in the kitchen is the first. Large, dramatic, and completely unexpected, it transforms a functional room into something that feels alive and considered. A reminder that the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in a home and deserves to be treated that way.
The vaulted ceiling with exposed timber beams is the second. It gives the entire home a sense of openness and warmth that no amount of furniture could create on its own. Light moves beautifully through this space throughout the day.
The pink hallway doorframe is the third. A single colour choice that turns a corridor into a destination. It is the kind of decision that only makes sense when you understand the people living there — and in this home, it makes perfect sense.

A Hudson Valley home that feels exactly like its owners , warm, confident, creative, and completely at ease with itself.
This is wellness interior design applied not through restraint, but through joy. A home that supports the people inside it not by quieting everything down, but by turning everything up just enough.
